So I'm going to be doing this regularly but basically showcasing my favorite movies and making you guys want to see them.
First up: Batman Returns.
Now what brought this to mind? Just listened to the incredible film score by Danny Elfman on Pandora. That's the first great thing about this movie. Next the casting. Michael Keaton really accepts the part of Bruce Wayne and makes it his own. Danny Devito as the Penguin; perfect and really no where else (even in the comics) will you actually feel sorry for this character. Basically the definitive Penguin story.
Christopher Walken as the sleaze boss of the power plant company. He's so perfectly Christopher Walken-esque in this movie.
And of course, Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle. Probably the first time as a kid I can remember thinking to myself; damn this woman can act. Completely underrated role of a lifetime but she shines and makes this more a Catwoman movie than a Batman movie. She's sexy, utterly insane, innocent, but she still makes you feel for her.
Probably the weakest is the plot but damn it still makes for one hell of a comic book movie. Better than some of the crap that keeps coming out today.
Included below are my music video to the movie dedicated to Catwoman and probably my favorite scene of the movie where they realize each other's identities.

Marty and Leo's Latest
If this is as good as it looks and it should be; this'll be all over the Oscars. And I'm not always crazy about Martin Scorsese's movies but damn this looks good. The movie stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Michelle Williams, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson and Max Von Sidow. Comes out in October

She's BAAAAAACCCCKK

So apparently Angelina Jolie is gonna be back for Wanted 2...
but wait ...
didn't she die in that movie??
Well yes ... she did (oh yea spoiler alert but I doubt many of you saw that movie ... BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE CAUSE IT WAS AWESOME)
Meh as long as they do it believably i'll be fine with it. She'll make more money for the movie anyway and the one thing the comic and movie industry doesn't need is more flops.

A Fake Poster

Just because you needed to know; this poster is fake.
BUT; They ARE making a Spider-Man 4. Also directed by Sam Raimi; the question now is if Tobey Maguire and Kristen Dunst will be back.
UPDATE: So it looks like Kristen Dunst is all set to be back for it according to a recent interview. She also says the villain will be very New York based ... Kingpin or Lizard?

I need to get off Youtube
I don't know whether to burst out laughing or be appalled that they mutilated these classic movies. But I'm laughing so I think it's option one

DC Comics (the publisher of Batman and Superman) next comic book movie before Green Lantern is going to be Jonah Hex, which is based on a comic book series about a Western Lawman who wears his Confederate uniform and ... shoots people ... and Megan Fox is in the movie. Oh here's a picture of her FREAKISHLY THIN body; see above.

A Waldo Movie?

Universal Pictures have just purchased the rights to a Waldo movie.
Why? I have no idea. Let's just imagine what that plot line will be. Just please don't let it be five teenagers running around a crowd looking for Waldo

Review: UP is truly up there. (one of the many up puns you've seen probably)

I think Pixar is truly incapable of making a 'bad' movie. And Pixar's 'bad' movies (Cars, A Bug's Life) are still incredibly awesome movies.
But Up is certainly not one of those Pixar 'bad' movies. In fact it ranks up there with Finding Nemo and Wall-E. While Wall-E handled a broad level of issues that humanity faces, Up is probably Pixar's most human movie. Really it's hard to put into words how good this movie is.
Please; as I hope you have learned, Pixar movies are not just for kids. They are movies truly for any audience (unless you hate animation; which there are those out there who do; i don't understand it, but they do). Just go see it.

Ron Howard did it again

Now I loved the Da Vinci Code movie. Not many did. So I went into Angels and Demons optimistically. Thankfully it was worth the wait. I wouldn't say it was better than Da Vinci Code but was certainly on par. Tom Hanks had a better haircut and at times you forgot it was him. The girl was good too (sorry I forgot her name and I don't care enough to look it up).
So go see this movie (assuming you already saw Star Trek).

Kirk's Dad is the God of Thunder

Movie news on Thor the movie.
The actor that played Kirk's dad in Star Trek (George Kirk) has been cast as Thor in Kenneth Branagh's movie. I'm glad they cast a somewhat unknown but Chris Hemsworth (pictured above) is gonna have to seriously bulk up.
Tom Hiddleston has been cast as the trickster god, Loki.
This comes out summer 2011. If they do this right; it should be incredibly awesome.

THE NINE
I love musicals. I love movie musicals. Now I know NOTHING about this musical. But let's look at the cast:
Daniel Day-Lewis (Oscar Winner)
Marion Cotillard (Oscar Winner)
Penelope Cruz (Oscar Winner)
Judi Dench (Oscar Winner)
Nicole Kidman (Oscar Winner)
Sophia Loren (Oscar Winner)
Kate Hudson (Oscar Nominee)
and
Fergie
Yea well she can sing; and they need at least one person who can sing in a musical.
But anyway this looks awesome and i'll be there
Taymor's back with a Tempest

Remember Julie Taymor's Titus? Yea insane movie. But apparently she has a soft spot for those crazy Shakespeare plays. Cause she's make Shakespeare's Tempest into a movie with Helen Mirren as Prospero AHEM I mean Prospera. Yep; Gender change. Taymor's of course better known for her 'Across the Universe' and 'The Lion King' on Broadway. Oh yea and she's making a Spider-Man Musical; no lie.
The film also stars Russell Brand, Djimon Hounsou, Alfred Molina (all pictured above) Alan Cumming, David Strathairn, and Chris Cooper. AMAZING Cast.

Greetings!
Hello World,
I am Ploppy. That's not really my name but more like my call sign. I am actually a male American college student who at the moment is in the middle of a fall semester abroad in New Zealand. I am doing this blog because I feel I have a lot to say about all forms of entertainment. This blog will be for me to bring you new trailers, new information about music, music videos, and even some news on comic books. Also there will be some reviews of older movies and music that I'm currently enjoying where I make recommendations. I'm not perfect and do not consider myself an expert on entertainment. Enjoy and be sure to bookmark now!Ploppy
